AUGUST HOMELESS OUTREACH| If our Aug. 22 homeless outreach at Wildwood Park taught us one thing it’s this: We need to pray for the Lord to send more laborers into His harvest field.
While many people live in and around the park, only a fraction joins us for “church in the park.” Most hover on the fringes, yet they are more than willing to hear the gospel if we go to them. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough volunteers Aug. 22 to tend to both the tasks of the “church” service and canvassing the park.
So many people were left unreached.
People who did not receive the love and hope of Jesus Christ, or the experience of someone demonstrating that they care about them and their plight. This absolutely broke our hearts, and we are praying for the Lord to send more helpers into this ministry.
Because when we do have enough volunteers—especially prayer warriors—so many more people’s hearts, minds and souls are touched by Jesus Christ. Some have received Christ (and salvation!) through these face-to-face encounters. We’ve witnessed it.
Please prayerfully consider joining us for a future outreach. You are dearly needed.
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
On Aug. 22, we were blessed to help 15 people and to share with them the gospel of Christ. We gave out hygiene kits, food cards, Bibles, water, clothing and lots of love.
Special thanks go out to our volunteers: Paul, Judy, Robert, Christine, Josh and Sierra. Thank you also to Selah Christian Fellowship and all who continue to prayerfully support this ministry.
God bless you,
Tony and Koren
