OCTOBER OUTREACH| If we had to pick one word to sum up our Oct. 17 homeless outreach at Wildwood Park, it would be “joy.”
We had the honor and privilege to serve alongside our brothers- and sisters-in-Christ from Community Christian Church (CCC) in the first of what we hope to be many joint events in the local mission field. They cooked, served, sang, worshiped, shared their faith, prayed and loved on everyone—homeless and otherwise—in the park.
It was a time of fellowship as well as service, and we made new friends as well as ministered alongside old friends (thank you, Jonas, from Glendale Church of Brethren, who joined us from Encino).
We were also blessed to have three dear men—Carl, Skip and Alden—from the Gideons Lake Arrowhead Camp join us for some one-on-one evangelism in the park.
Plus, our faithful volunteers Judy, Christine, Robert and Josh helped with music, electronics, distribution (bibles, water, clothing, food cards and hygiene kits), referrals, and prayer.
Tony and CCC Associate Pastor Paul shared messages from the Word, and we closed our time in joint prayer, hands raised in honor of the Living God.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support of this ministry. Please keep the people living in and around Wildwood Park in your prayers. Cold weather is coming and they are in need of winter jackets, socks, blankets, and rain ponchos. Let us know if you can donate any of these items for our upcoming Thanksgiving outreach.
Blessings,
Tony and Koren
