I’m excited to announce that we will be doing our first “On-the-Mountain” homeless outreach for the west end of the San Bernardino Mountains.
Last month we identified 10-20 homeless people living in and around the Lake Gregory area. We were also able to recruit a point person from this local homeless community, who will help us coordinate the outreach. The hour-long event will start at noon Saturday, Aug. 16 near Lake Gregory ballfield.
We will distribute water, $5 food cards, blankets, Bibles, hygiene kits and clothes specific to their needs. We will, of course, also have live praise and worship along with a message of hope prior to distribution.
Please contact me if you would like to donate to or volunteer for this event.
Pilot Rock Prison Outreach, Aug. 17
Our next prison outreach will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17 at Pilot Rock Prison Camp. This month, along with Bibles, snacks and a worship service, we will bring the men new Daily Bread devotionals, plus booklets on prayer entitled, “Let’s Pray.”
We are praying that the men will be in camp this month, but because we are in the midst of fire season, they could be called out to a fire at any time. If so, the outreach could be canceled at the last minute. Please continue to pray for these men, who help combat wildland fires locally and statewide. If you’ve never read about the type of service these men provide, here’s a great article to read: http://knprnews.org/post/thousands-inmates-serve-time-fighting-wests-forest-fires
Thanks to your faithful prayers, donations and support, these outreaches can continue to bring hope and practical help to the “least of these.” If you could look into the eyes of the people who are helped each month, you would see how much it means to them to know that God loves them and that YOU care about them. For many, it is the first time anyone has stopped to care.
May you be blessed for your loving heart.
Please let me know how we can also pray for you. You can reach me at: email@example.com.
Thanks & Blessings,
